- Rhyming Words: The user learns reading strategies in the context of rhyming poems. Finding rhyming words and parts of words with assistance from animated sea creatures make learning these reading strategies fun.
- Alphabetical Order: Ordering with first and second letters.
- Writing Poetry: Students select words to create their very own copycat poem and cinquain.
- Whale Notebook: Focuses on reading for information. A quiz follows.
- Journal (Days of the Week): Penny the Puffin™ keeps a journal of her whale-watching journey. The journal is written at two different levels. Quizzes follow.
- Dictionary: Students interact with the dictionary. A quiz follows.
- Concept Words: Cedric the Starfish™ introduces concept words in context. Quiz follows.
